We were out test driving a car, pulled into the bay and were awed by their way cool dog wash! ! An awesome idea, to begin with. I would have never dreamed there would be a place to bring the furry ones after playing at the lake. It has everything I'd want and more. The owner of this car/ dog wash was very forward thinking!
We took our cavalier down to the river and she was disgusting. A nice man pointed us towards Scrubbys and we went off to find it. The dog wash was easy. Just like a car wash but for dogs. Water was warm and she was happy the whole time.
Came by to wash our new foster dog and the tub was clogged with hair and fleas. On top of that the dryer tubing kept falling off and would make this high pitch sound that would freak our foster out. I stopped immediately after as he's been through enough in the past week already. Absolutely disgusting and awful for other animals, I disinfected tub as best I could, couldn't find any others close by and our poor foster really needed a bath so we go in and out as quick as we could.
So dissapointed. Was not totally impressed with tail waggins self serve dog wash, decided to give this one a try. When I arrived the tub was pretty gross...but hey, that's the fault of the person previous to me and not the business. Went and cleaned the tub and started washing my dog. Immediately I noticed the tub disinfectant took a long time to rinse clean from the nozzle. I probably should have just said nevermind with that and left. However, I kept on. Next the shampoo seemed fine or at least seemed to be shampoo...fast forward to rinsing the stuff wouldn't rinse out well AT ALL. Ok well lets carry on to the conditioner and then rinse. On the final rinse...after several minutes of rinsing i realize the shampoo or conditioner left some sort of residue in my dogs coat. So I continue to try and rinse until I felt it was as good as it was getting, and then i swiped as much water and residue off her as possible with my hands. I followed the instructions and vaccumed some water off my dog and blow dried her as best as i could. The dryer was noisy, but it didnt seem to bother her (most of the blowers like that ate noisy) but the drying ability seemed pretty crummy. I have by now timed out the max on my card ($15 for 30 min and it automatically ends the time and you have to reswipe). I dig out a few dollars in change and add more time to try and finish my dogs bath. So nearly $20 later I have a slightly damp dog, who smells like she didnt get a bath, and I'm afraid to let her lick her paws because of the mystery residue. Not only was tail waggins cheaper, I came away with a dry and clean smelling dog. I've used self service dog washes for years and I have never been quite so put off.
Thanks! !
Best car wash in town, I love the foam brush.
