Came by for some beer and food after walking in the park. The bar is nice and cozy and the bartender was attentive. My wife liked it a lot (thank the Lord) and I'm sure we'll be back. The calimari and gumbo were really good.
I was surprised by some of the bad reviews I found. My boyfriend and I went for lunch after passing by a few times. The service was perfect, although it wasn't very busy. Their lunch prices are perfect for the portions and they give you plenty of food. I'm from cajun country, they passed my gumbo test, it was awesome.

We had a nice night at Gumbo's last night. Food was great, wine was great, service was great but the ambiance is the best. It was super busy but it wasn't noisy & we didn't feel like we were too close to the other tables. I hadn't been in a few years & was scared to waste a "babysitter night" based on the bad reviews, but I'm really glad we went. We will definitely go back.
Not to slam a business but the quality of the food for what was charged did not match. Of six people at the the table, no one liked their meal. The appetizers were too expensive for the quantity. We will not return. One final note... We did patronize the restaurant when they were serving their limited menu for the lighting of the square. Conventional wisdom tells you that you limit the menu to ensure high quality during a busier time. Not the case sadly.
