Food is great, atmosphere is fantastic. One of my favorite places, but I'm only giving three stars because they don't accept reservations and there's always huge waits. They don't let you order food at the bar while you're waiting either, unless you're sitting at the bar.
If you want to pay up, they do standard different margs but then have really unique wine-splash and cactus and cucumber versions that are totally worth trying.
Hands down, the best margaritas that I have ever had. They work hard on the margaritas, brewing for days with all kinds of limes and multiple tequilas and so on. Then they have *generous* and *powerful* house margaritas for just $4 at any time.
Went here with the wife, kids, and parents today. It was amazing. Everything we had was packed with flavor. We are new to the area and found this to be the best Mexican Restaurant we have been to. I definitely recommend giving El Monumento a shot.
This place has a great house margarita, and at the price, it's a steal. We often come here for margaritas and appetizers, but I've only ever eaten a full meal at lunch time. The architecture of the place is fantastic, and the patio is gorgeous, with a nice view of the river. For some reason, I seem to get better service in the restaurant portion than in El Bar, though I've had friends tell me they've had a great time in the bar area. Anyway, definitely a cool place. I'll be back many, many more times.
Tip: Eat at the bar.
I looked forward to visiting this place because it looked so pretty and the outdoor area was really cute. Went for dinner with my boyfriend, it took forever for our waiter to bring our drinks, almost a half hour. Then our food took even longer. Our server was really nice but rarely around. When our food came it was nothing special. Pretty disappointed for what we paid.
