Helpfulv and friendly staff in a lovely little building!

Shame on Georgetown for the way your police treat visitors. We were caught in your "blocking intersection trap" by the McDonalds yesterday and given a citation! We were visiting from Wisconsin and heard about your lovely town square so took a little detour to check it out. We regret not passing right by now that we were harassed and ticketed by your police after entering an intersection on a green arrow and not being able to make it Thur before it turned red. Why? No idea. (People turning left into McDonalds? Poorly timed lights?) it was an obvious set up, as we were promptly waved into parking lot for our ticket. After receiving it we parked and watched (and videotaped and photographed) two more vehicles fall into the same trap in less than 20 minutes. (Basically as soon as he let one go, he walked out and waved another in,) if this were a legitimate safety concern, you would change the light timing or the intersection not just hand out tickets. When something awful happens at that intersection your city will be liable as the many tickets will prove you were well aware of the concern and did nothing to remedy it but hand out tickets.

Georgetown is great! I love the historic square of 7th, Austin, 8th & Main. It is a beautiful city. If you haven't been to Georgetown, come!

Great group of people

My family and I recently moved to Georgetown from San Antonio, so I figured I'd go check out the square and visitor's center in town. I went with my daughter this afternoon and saw that they seemed to be giving away some sort of free bags and stickers, etc for small business Saturday. Unfortunately, while inside the visitor center, we were not greeted by the ladies working there. I proceeded to walk up to the table where the free merchandise was located to see what it was all about, but neither woman at the table acknowledged me. I continued to walk around and then came back to the table a second time, figuring maybe this time they might inform me about what was going on, but once again I was ignored. Sadly, I have to say that I felt anything but welcomed in this welcome center.
